Wilderness EMT

Jack Creek & Missoula, MT

Join Aerie for three weeks are the incredible Jack Creek Preserve outside of Big Sky, MT and one week in Missoula, MT. Learn to care for patients in urban, rural and wilderness environments. In addition, students can earn three credits through the University of Montana. Upon successful completion of course requirements, student are eligible for the National Registry EMT and the State of Montana EMT certifications. Click here for more information.

COST: $4,000- includes room and board for the duration of the program as well as most course supplies and practical EMT test fees. Aerie accepts alternate funding options such as AmeriCorps, G.I. Bill and we offer payment plans.

TEXTBOOK: Students are required to obtain the main EMT textbook used for this course. It can be new, used, PDF or rented and the accompanying workbook is up to you but is not required by Aerie Backcountry Medicine. "Prehospital Emergency Care (11 Edition)"- Joseph Mistovich.

PREREQUISITES: This course can be intense and does require some preparation before the first day. Students must have no prior felony's and be 18 years of age or older; younger students may take the class with approval but must be 18 within two years of course completion to take the National Registry Exam. Must submit 2- negative TB tests, vaccination records (contact the Aerie office for a list), and a self query by Monday April 15th, 2019. If you can't meet this deadline please contact the Aerie office to make other arrangements.
