Course Details:
This EMT Hybrid class requires online education to be completed before the in-person sessions begin on May 20th. Students who do not complete the mandatory online education will be unable to participate in any/all in-person sessions.
Background:
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are the
foundation of pre-hospital medical care in the United States. EMTs gain
access to and assess patients, control bleeds, stabilize fractures,
administer some medications, package patients and deliver them to higher
levels of care. Aerie's EMT course prepares our students for this field
with in-depth, interactive lectures and realistic, challenging
scenarios. This course is offered for 5 University of Montana credits
for an additional $155 fee paid directly to the university.
Schedule:May 20, 21, 22, 23 (Tuesday through Friday)
May 27, 28, 29, 30 (Tuesday through Friday)
June 4, 5, 6 (Wednesday through Friday)
Online sessions required before May 20th.
Class is 8am to 6pm.
EMT Practical Exam, included in your course tuition, is on June 7th.

Cost/Tuition:
$1,050.
This tuition includes the practical EMT test fees and most course
supplies. A deposit of $500 is due at the time of registration. Aerie
accepts alternate sources of funding such as AmeriCorps, G.I. BillĀ® and
we do offer payment plans.

Textbook: Students are required to purchase the EMT textbook for this course. It can be new, used, rented, or an electronic version: we highly discourage students from using previous versions of this textbook as curriculum points are outdated. The accompanying workbook is recommended, though not required for course completion.

Prerequisites:
This
course can be intense and requires preparation before the first day. We
encourage to get their textbook as often as possible and begin reading
the first several chapters of the text. Those sections will still be
covered in class, however, starting these sections will improve student
success.
Students must be 18 years of age or older by the
completion of class; younger students may take the class with prior
written approval but must be 18 within two years of course completion to
take the National Registry exams.
