WFA Options During the COVID-19 Pandemic
to COVID-19 safety precautions, Aerie has decided to offer an
interactive online WME course in place of our two-day, in-person WFA
courses. This WME certification will be valid for two years and provides
great essential information outside of a 2-day WFA course.
Wilderness Medicine Essentials is an awareness-level class designed for individuals or organizations wanting up-to-date wilderness medicine information on topics such as wound management, management of hot and cold emergencies, basic splinting and wilderness improvisation. This course typically substitutes for American Red Cross/ AHA Standard First Aid, BLS First Aid. This will be a 1 day online interactive course at a fee of $100.
Course Length: 8 hours
Certifications Received and Certification Duration:
WME – 2 years
If you have already paid in full (the regular WFA / CPR pricing) for your upcoming WFA (and/or optional CPR):
- Option 1: Take the online WME course on the Sunday you originally planned. That certification will be valid for two years. When in person instruction is back in place, Aerie will enroll you into a regular two-day WFA course at no additional cost.
- Option 2: Take the online WME course on the Sunday you originally planned but request half of your course payment back. The WME certification is $100 and will be valid for two years.
- Option 3: Transfer your course payment to a future regular two-day WFA course (current dates are unknown; we have no projection on future availability). Your payment will be held for two years and can be applied to any future offering Aerie has.
- Option 4: Opt to remove yourself from any future course, online or in-person.
Please contact our office for more information or to proceed with one of the above options!
Aerie will offer a CPR course, online, that will be valid for one year. This course cost will be half of the regular price.
We appreciate your understanding during these unique and challenging times.
