Background:
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are the foundation of pre-hospital medical care in the United States. EMTs gain access to and assess patients, control bleeds, stabilize fractures, administer some medications, package patients and deliver them to higher levels of care. Aerie's EMT course prepares our students for this field with in-depth, interactive lectures and realistic, challenging scenarios. This course is offered for 5 University of Montana credits for an additional $155 fee paid directly to the university.

Schedule:
Online sessions required before January 6th.
Jan 6th to 17th, 2025; Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Location:  Missoula, MT.  Missoula College (1205 E Broadway St, Missoula, MT 59802), exact classroom number TDB.

Cost/Tuition:
$1,975. This tuition includes the practical EMT test fees and most course supplies. A deposit of $1,000 is due at the time of registration. Aerie accepts alternate sources of funding such as AmeriCorps, G.I. BillĀ® and we do offer payment plans.

Room and board are not available through Aerie for this course.  However, for those looking for more information about Missoula and some potential accommodations, please see this Welcome To Missoula document.

Textbook:
Students are required to obtain the EMT textbook used for this course. It can be new, used, PDF or rented. Students should not use previous versions of the textbook as critical curriculum items are medically outdated.

Prerequisites:
This course can be intense and requires preparation before the first day. We encourage to get their textbook as often as possible and begin reading the first several chapters of the text.  Those sections will still be covered in class, however, starting these sections will improve student success.

Students must be 18 years of age or older by the completion of class; younger students may take the class with prior written approval but must be 18 within two years of course completion to take the National Registry exams.
